Chrysler Automotive Heraldry

1948 Chrysler hood ornamentChrysler hood ornamentChrysler seems to have developed some of the interesting but eclectic heraldic displays of any automobile manufacturer.  The hood ornament shown to the left contains the Chrysler seal logo that is the most consistent logo they have used.  This logo was recently resurrected recently and is now used quite prominently on their products.

Chrysler Cordoba hood ornamentThe Chrysler Cordoba was an attempt at building a relatively patrician vehicle, and heraldry was one of the tools the designer used to enhance its image.  This hood ornament appears to contain a simplified version of the arms of the city of Cordoba.
