Hudson Automotive Heraldry

1955 Hudson grille badge According to [Nicholson], the symbols on the Hudson logo are not from any existing arms.  The central triangular shape does not seem to have any significance, but the two ships are meant to “symbolize the adventurous spirit of bold and imaginative engineers” and the two castles in chief represent “strength and integrity.”  [Wendel] indicates that this logo was first used in October 1945, although there was a logo using some of the same elements before the war.

1955 Hudson Farina badgeOne other heraldic badge on some of the final Hudson vehicles was the emblem of the Farina (later Pininfarina) Italian design firm located on the roof post.
