Just a little info about us:
Mika & Shannon were born in Bellevue & Seattle WA, respectively. Andrew was born in Brewster WA.
Mika started going to Summit K-12 when it switched from a high school to an all-grades school in 1978 when she was in third grade. Shannon started in Kindergarden. Andrew finally joined us at Summit when he started in ninth grade. Mika & Andrew graduated in 1987, and Shannon in 1994. Mika & Andrew became Mr. & Mrs. Bartroff on October 11, 1992. Shannon is currently attending the University of Washington through the Extension School, and Mika hopes to start within the next year.
When Mika was a baby, her parents joined a group called the SCA. Shortly after Shannon's birth, they became Prince and Princess of An Tir, and when they stepped down, they then became the Baron and Baroness of Madrone. The family no longer attends SCA events, but we do have fond memories of being royal pains-in-the-butt.
When Andrew was young, he and his mother started going to Sci Fi Conventions, and she soon became the head of childcare at the main Northwest Convention, Norwescon. When Andrew & Mika started dating, she also began to go to Norwescon, and later other conventions, and when Mika allowed it, Shannon eventually joined them. Andrew no longer attends regularly, but Mika and Shannon, along with several other people, still run KidKon, Norwescon's childcare.
